Description

The Knowsley SK SmartMix® Electronic Foam Mixing Device from HMA INSTRUMENTATION has been developed by its long-standing technology partner Knowsley SK, part of the SK Fire Group. This foam proportioner mixes firefighting foam concentrate and water accurately, based on the actual firewater demand of the system in question. The end result is a highly effective and accurate system with increased reliability and reduced costs.

The Knowsley SK SmartMix® Electronic Foam Mixing Device from HMA INSTRUMENTATION is based on the principle of the continuous monitoring of the firewater and foam concentrate flowrate, with the use of electromagnetic flowmeters and real-time adjustment of the concentrate control valve.

The accuracy and stability of the Knowsley SK SmartMix® Electronic Foam Mixing Device from HMA INSTRUMENTATION are based on the combination of specially-selected components and a unique control system with state-of-the-art logic developed. The control system records all process values and alarms during operation or test, which are available to download via a user-friendly touchscreen interface.

With the growing concerns around discharging firefighting foam into the environment, the Knowsley SK SmartMix® Electronic Foam Mixing Device from HMA INSTRUMENTATION allows for the system’s performance to be tested regularly without mixing foam and water, therefore avoiding any environmental repercussions or the depletion of valuable foam stocks.

The Knowsley SK SmartMix® Electronic Foam Mixing Device from HMA INSTRUMENTATION can be installed close to the foam storage, or on remote locations where multiple foam mixing systems can be used on-site, based on a centralised foam-storage system. Another advantage of SmartMix® is that there is no pressure loss in the water supply. The internal control system has built-in self-diagnostics to alert operators of any faults within the control loop.
