Description

The Model 4015 Wire Extensometer uses flexible stainless steel wire rope sheathed in polyethylene tubing with plated anchors. The assembly is grouted into a borehole and a head frame with transducers is fitted. For large displacements, a spring loaded head frame is recommended (consists of up 6 spring loaded sensors). The unit can be read from a remote site data logger or read at the collar using Model 9600-2 10-channel extensometer readout.

Application

Measurement of settlements, displacements and deformation in:

  • Tunnelling
  • Open cut mines
  • Dam construction
  • Underground mines
  • Large excavations
  • Construction control

Features

  • Complete instruments supplied ready for installation
  • One to six anchor positions for varying ground conditions
  • Compact design, for ease of transportation
  • Transverse shear accommodation
  • The head frame can be re-used on subsequent boreholes
  • Three options for obtaining data including digital counter, hand held readout and data logger
