Rubber-backed ZTA (Zircon Toughened Alumina) tiles from HMA Wear Solutions feature a steel backing plate with studs. These are ideal for high-impact applications, as the rubber absorbs the energy, thus preventing the tiles from breaking out. The panels are easy to change out due to the studs welded to the backing plate.

The main advantage of Zirconia Toughened Alumina (ZTA) from HMA Wear Solutions is the additional strength and toughness over Alumina, combined with a lower cost. The combination of aluminium oxide and zirconium oxide provides for much greater strength, toughness, hardness, and wear resistance than Alumina alone. The 20% to 30% increase in strength often provides the design criteria needed at a much lower cost than purely using zirconia.
