Type D Tension-Loaded Rupture Disks from BS&B and HMA INSTRUMENTATION are composite-design tension-loaded (forward-acting) rupture disks consisting of a metal slotted top layer, and a plastic or metal film located on the underside (pressure side) of the top slotted layer. The slotted top layer is used to control the burst pressure of the disc, while the film is used to isolate and prevent leakage.

Type D disks can also be supplied with vacuum support for applications where slight backpressure or full vacuum is present. Features include application in both gas and liquid service, suitable for operating pressure to 80% of the marked burst pressure, designed for non-fragmentation, available in sizes from 25 mm to 1 100 mm, and a flange insert or union style angular seat holder configuration.
