US submarines feature both mechanical and electronic pressure gauges. The mechanical gauges have several different ranges, from shallow to deep, allowing for increased precision near the surface. The electronic indicators are digital. While all of these gauges depend on water pressure, the benefit of mechanical gauges is that they do not require electrical power. A depth gauge, in essence, reads the salt-water depth to keel.
Submarine depth gauges available from HMA Instrumentation are manufactured to precise specifications for a diverse range of industries and applications. All HMA Instrumentation’s fully-qualified and experienced technicians and the associated calibration facility hold the necessary security clearances to enable the continued support and calibration of these essential devices.
